Founder's Story
Build The Studio That Was Missing
Firebox was founded by Harshad Ghodke, a ceramicist who moved to the Boston area from Connecticut and spent the next year looking for a studio with real availability, material freedom, and room to grow—without a one- to two-year waitlist just to get started.
When it became clear that studio did not exist, the decision was straightforward: build it.
The name Firebox comes from the part of the kiln where heat is generated—the place where raw clay is transformed into finished ceramic form. That idea of transformation sits at the center of the studio: technical skill, experimentation, artistic development, and a community built around serious making.
